 Product Details

This is the second release of a new series by The South African Mint. This series will feature all the animals in the Big Five. This silver lion coin has a mintage of only 15,000 worldwide.

    Coin Highlights:
    • Mintage of only 15,000 worldwide.
    • Contains 1 oz of .999 fine Silver.
    • Each silver coin will come in a capsule in a blister pack.
    • Obverse: Features a  close-up image of a male lion with the fine detail of its mane filling the interior of the coin, together with the words ‘South Africa’ and ‘Big Five 2019’, as well as the country’s coat of arms.
    • Reverse: The coin bears an inspired design of two halves of a lion’s face, side-by-side. This is done so that when two of the coins are placed next to each other, a complete image of the face of a lion is seen (as seen in the double-capsule proof set).
